Differences between Magnetic Encoder and Optical Encoder

Edit:    Click: Times   Date:2025-4-1

Magnetoelectric encoder is a new encoder sensing technology developed in recent years, which makes the mechanical structure of the encoder simpler and more reliable. However, it has a higher threshold for the designer's ability. It uses magnetic components to generate position information and measures motion by inducing magnetic field changes. Magnetic encoders typically include magnetic markers, sensors, and signal processing circuits.

The photoelectric encoder is currently the most widely used and mature encoder sensing technology on the market. This technology has been developed for decades and has relatively low cost. It uses the photoelectric effect to detect changes in light and determine the position of objects. Optoelectronic encoders typically include a light source, grating or encoder disk, and photosensitive elements such as photodiodes.
