1. Application requirements
(1) Any enterprise or institution that has obtained legal person status in China in accordance with the law, as well as private enterprises and individual industrial and commercial households with business licenses, can apply to register the Chinese Commodity Barcode Manufacturer Identification Code (hereinafter referred to as the Manufacturer Code).
(2) Enterprises that use registered trademarks on their products and apply for registration of Chinese barcode manufacturer identification codes should generally have trademark registration rights; Units that legally use registered trademarks of others can only apply for registration of Chinese barcode manufacturer identification codes on the premise of not violating the uniqueness of product codes.
2. Corporate Obligations
(1) A vendor code is only for one enterprise to use, and the enterprise is not allowed to transfer or share its own vendor code with other enterprises.
(2) To ensure the uniqueness of product barcodes, enterprises should only use their manufacturer codes for the products produced and operated by themselves. However, for products processed or used by others with registered trademarks, in principle, the product barcode prepared by the trademark registrant for that type of product should be used.
(3) Enterprises should follow national standards when using product barcodes to ensure accurate identification of product information at all stages of product circulation.
(4) Enterprises should pay relevant fees according to regulations.
(5) Enterprises should participate in the re examination according to regulations.
3. Registration Procedure
(1) The enterprise shall request the registration application for the Chinese commodity barcode manufacturer identification code from the China Article Numbering Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Center") or its branches, and fill it out completely according to the regulations.
(2) The enterprise should provide a copy of the business license of the legal representative (for private enterprises or individual businesses that have not obtained legal personality, the business license should be provided) and the trademark registration certificate (if the registered trademark is not used on the goods, the enterprise should provide a certificate), and submit it together with the manufacturer code registration application to the center or its branch.
(3) Enterprises should pay relevant fees according to the charging standards stipulated by the Ministry of Finance and the National Price Bureau.
(4) After registration is completed, the center will notify the enterprise of the manufacturer code in writing and issue the "China Commodity Barcode System Member Certificate" to the enterprise.
(5) The center will announce the enterprise and its registered vendor code.
4. Maintenance of vendor code
(1) If a company forms a joint venture or merger with others, its new enterprise should handle the registration application procedures for the manufacturer code separately.
(2) The validity period of the manufacturer's code is two years, and it should be reviewed after expiration.
