Absolute encoder
Absolute value single circle encoders generally do not provide additional prompts. In the market, the default term for not adding more circles is single circle. Single circle refers to the encoder saving only one circle of data when it loses power. Taking a resolution of 1000 as an example, the data saved when it loses power is the encoded value of one circle (0~1000). If it rotates forward for more than one circle (1000), it will reset to 0 and start adding, or if it rotates backward for more than one circle, it will reset to 1000 and start subtracting. The coil count register only counts up and down when there is power, and returns to 0 when there is power, so it is also called an electronic coil count. But a single coil encoder can calculate the speed, store it in the speed register, and the controller can read it at any time.
Absoulute multi-turn encoder
Absolute value multi turn encoder refers to a mechanical multi turn encoder, which is a physical mechanical structure that supports multi turn data and can store multi turn data even after power failure. Taking 20 turns and a resolution of 1000 as an example, when the encoder is powered off, the encoded value is 100, which is 0 turns and 36 degrees. After power failure, it is rotated two turns plus 36 degrees (a total rotation of 756 degrees). Then, when powered on again, the data read from the turn register will be 2 instead of 0, the data read from the encoded value register will be 200, and the data in the total encoded value register will be 2200 (792 degrees). When the rotation exceeds 20 turns, the turn register and total encoded value will return to 0. However, mechanical multi turn encoders do not support measuring rotational speed. Our mechanical multi turn encoders can be customized and produced from 10 to 1770 turns, and the more turns, the higher the cost and price.
